Wellington (Copper-Gold; EL6320):
Hosts the Galwadgere deposit, a small copper ± gold resource with volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS)-type characteristics hosted within Silurian aged felsic volcanics.
Current project status
The Galwadgere deposit was drilled out in 2005 and a scoping study indicated that additional resources are required to generate acceptable returns. Preliminary drilling at the North Galwadgere prospect indicates extensions of the mineralised horizon but with generally higher levels of gold, zinc and other trace elements suggesting zonation within the system. Further drilling is required to fully assess this zone.
More recent exploration, including soil geochemistry and induced polarisation geophysical surveys, has been completed regionally to identify addition targets for drilling.
